Terra Nova

There’s been a lot of chatter about the new Terra Nova TV series – either Jurassic Park crossed with StarGate and a hint of Bladerunner if you’re USA-based, or the old 2000AD comicstrip Flesh if you’re an old Brit like me.

It hasn’t crossed the pond yet as far as I’m aware (which isn’t much, aware I mean, as I don’t have paid cable, so tend to miss anything that isn’t Freeview). Looks like fun, though.

Any comments from US-based readers who might have seen this?

  1. Stelios Touchtidis says:

Very exciting series from an action/adventure POV, with likable actors and a lot of tension. However, at the very end of the pilot they annoyed me with some unnecessarily shoddy science about how the night sky appeared millions of years ago. Definitely worth watching though.

Hi Stelios – that seems to be very much what most people are saying, I think. I just hope it makes it to the UK so we can make our own minds up at some point.

  3. Christine says:

Very slick and reasonably entertaining, but not any great shakes as science fiction. I’m just following it because there’s nothing else that’s new and watchable this year. I watch on Hulu.com but guess that’s only available in US (?)

  4. Personally, I find it too prude and pushing the usual republican/conservative envelope.

An adaptation of 2000AD’s FLESH (“Scavengers” as it’s known in the US) now THAT I’d be willing to watch!!!
