A PC from a more elegant age
This one should delight the retropunk impulses of even the most jaded among you… the Art Deco computer, as hand-made by Jeff Stephenson over at the Slippery Skip. If you have to ask him the price of the Aerodyne – a fanless mahogany mini-ITX case design with aluminum accents – you can’t afford it! http://slipperyskip.com

Enter the steamman
Have you ever wondered what one of the steammen from the far-future Steamman Free State (‘Court of the air’, ‘Jack Cloudie’, ‘Secrets of the Fire Sea’, ‘Kingdom Beyond the Waves’ etc etc) would look like in real life? Well, wonder no more, because these keen readers of my Jackelian novels brought one along to the […]

Dr Grordbort presents the Deadliest Game trailer
Here’s a new trailer from everyone’s favourite maker of steampunk ray-guns. Well, mine, anyway! It’s a Victorian-style alien hunting party crossing some rather dangerous terrain in their steampunk vehicle. Wouldn’t it be nice for them to develop this concept just a little bit further! Thanks to Steampunk Tribune for spotting this gem.

John Carter Trailer 2 on Good Morning America
Here’s the second John Carter Trailer as it appeared on Good Morning America. Looking mighty fine – and mighty retro, might I say.

Five Ton Crane’s steampunk sub
Five Ton Crane (aka 5TC) is a group of artists and inventors from the San Francisco Bay Area, with some cool steampunk projects behind them – e.g. the Raygun Gothic Rocketship and a u-boat that’s straight out of my novel, The Kingdom Beyond the Waves. 5TC say they aim to do the heavy lifting that […]

John Carter: pet shopping
Some new publicity shots from the John Carter of Mars movie land on the desk, complete with everyone’s favourite US civil war veteran pet shopping for Woola. You’ve got to love those airships in the first picture, too. With their wings and styling, they look kind of dieselpunk meets retro-alien chic, which is more or […]

The Wars of Other Men
Here’s an interesting-looking new steampunk influenced war film, The Wars of Other Men, by Mike Zawacki. Filmed in Detroit with next to no budget and a volunteer crew “The Wars of Other Men” has set out to take indie guerilla film making to the bleeding edge of what’s possible – an immersive alternate earth steampunk/dieselpunk […]

3 wheels… steampunk good?
Some more German-originated steampunk via my trusty German readers. This one is the 1880 German Starley electro-Tricycle rebuilt in replica form by the Museum Autovision, a museum for cars, motorcycles, bicycles (most of which were built by NSU Motorenwerke AG) and alternative propulsion in Altlußheim, a small town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Das steampunk
One of my German readers sends in news of this trailer for a German steampunk comic. I’d love to tell you more about it than just what this trailer shows, but I forgot most of my German when I was frozen in the Antarctic after world war two. Sorry. There’s a link to more panels […]

Steampunk Super Sunday
The Walyou geeks have shouted Steampunk Avengers Assemble, and brought together some of the finest steampunk superhero art from across the web. Steampunk spidey is my personal favourite. Via here, here, here and here.
